Gun Fluid
Automotive paint gun fluid tips?
I am looking at buying a conventional spray gun to shoot my clear coat with, but I am having a hard time figureing out the difference between a 1.3 or 1.4 or even a 1.8 tip? I use a 1.3 in my HVLP but it just doesn’t lay the clear down as flat and smooth as I would like. I’ve used a few conventional guns and have had great luck with them. If anyone could shed some light on the subject I woulde appreciate it.
Hi guys, before you ask , i am a proffessional car sprayer so i know what im on about, not sure which guns ure using, but would recomend devilbiss( not to keen on the sata’s) the bigger the fluid tip, the more paint will come out the gun when your spraying , i use a 1.3 for spraying that does me fine, it might not be that thats causing the orange peel though, ill list what i think it might be, could be the air cap, but doubtfull, i use a 115. try turning up the air pressure, i spray at 2 bar. if its to low it will be orange peely, it could even be your clearcoat is too thick, maybe thin it down a touch more. it may even be technique. try this for a change, we call this a double header. insted of letting the first coat dry, as soon as youve done the first go staight over with the second, this also save paint. sorry ive gone on a bit hope this might help a bit kd
