Valve Terminal
furnace gas valve will not open?
I have a goodman furnace where on a call for heat, the control board red light stays continuously on. After my suffice igniter comes on, the process stops. I do hear a click at the board at the time that the gas valve should open but it does not. I did take a voltage reading a cross the gas valve terminals at the time of that click but get no voltage. The board never give a blinking code. Could someone give advise to what my problem is?
Possible a defective board. Do you see the HSI (hot surface igniter ) glowing? If not the HSI is bad. And will cause this. The board itself may be faulty You could on a whim kill the power to the furnace and call for heat. Id probably venture to guess the board is bad.
And the Board when it fails is to dumb to tell you that the board itself has failed.
See this video here to check the HSI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_efWFDlQVg&feature=related
